Moms That Drive a Minivan.....

If you have a minivan, what do you have (year and model) and what kind of gas mileage do you get city vs hwy.
Did you have to convince your husband (if you are married) to get one?

I have a tahoe, but I feel like a minivan would be a little more practical. I have never ever driven one, but I have seen a few I think I would buy!
He thinks I've fallen and bumped my head.

I need hard evidence that one might be better than my tahoe lol :)

Oh, our kids are 4, 3 & almost 6 months. So, we have three carseats crammed in the second row of my tahoe.

Doesn't your tahoe have a third row of seats?

I like the Nissan Van, I like Toyotya Van too. But to get good gas mileage you have to get a up to date van.

Chrysler Town and Country.  Highway mileage is 25 miles per gallon.  Unsure of city/local.  We bought ours 1 year old and it was only $14000.  It's a 2008 btw.  It has more interior space than pretty much any SUV (even the huge ones, due to the layout) and in my opinion, minivans ride far smoother than any SUV-- and I test drove several to compare.

I have a 2010 Dodge Caravan, I love it!!

Before sucking it up and getting the van I looked at SUVs, 3 row seating and what I would be paying.for gas was just not worth it!!

My van can tow our pop up camper as well.

I drive from KY to PA and fill up once along the way, a tahoe or any other SUV with the 3rd row would've taken more gas.

We have wrap around air bags as well so I feel safer, not all SUVs even offer air bags for the 3rd row.

We fit all our luggage, 2 kids and our huge dog and still have plenty of room.

Our seat all fold right into the floor which is wonderful!!

I never ever ever thought I would like having a van but I love it!!

I am in the same situation. I have  a sedan. I need something bigger. I have friends tell me a minivan is much more practical than an suv. IM intersted in seeing the responses.

We have a 2008 chrysler town and country. We both love it. It gets about 18mpg city and 22 highway.

Yes it does, but it would be a pain to crawl in the back to buckle someone in everyday.
We took them out because there is absolutely no room for groceries or a stroller with them in.

I have a 2012 Dodge Caravan. We get about 23 mpg combined, but on our roadtrip got close to 27. It was a combined decision and one we haven't regretted. It has been a great van, the kids are comfy, and if I'm taking my mom & grandma we don't have to take 2 vehicles. I love it. :)
