My DH and I were talking about marriage one night and I said I wanted to marry him. He got down on one knee and took out his hoop earring and propsed to me right then and there. Now before get flak about him having a hoop earring it was the mid 90's and we were teens, lol. Been married for 16 years this november, couldn't be happier.

So you got a car AND a ring, both at the same time?! Plus a cookie cake?! I think I need to choose my men more wisely...lol...I didn't figure any of them were that nice!

When i graduated high school i told him (months in advance) that i wanted him to buy me a cookie cake for a present. He got me one fake rose :-(. Fast forward to about a year later, he drove me up to his moms (i was about 2 months pregnant with our first) and suprised me with a car, and we test drove it, then when we got back to his moms he made me close my eyes and led me inside where he had "will you marry me" written on a cookie cake and he was holding the ring up. So technically i got engaged to a cookie cake?
Thanks :)

That's awesome! Congrats!
Quoting La_Vie_en_R0se:My DH did on his birthday at our favorite restaurant. We are celebrating our 10 yr anniversary this Friday.
There is nothing weird about a women proposing. I didn't propose, but I brought it up, we had a through talk about it and it ended with him saying "Well, we are officially engaged now, I love you."
Neither one of us really did, unfortunately. He was in Germany with the Army and I was still in TX and we really missed each other. We just kind of agreed it was a good idea to get married over the phone. (I think I was saying how my parents would be very mad at me if I moved in with him when we were not married). Although I wish it would have been more special, I got to pick out my ring which is still my favorite ring after 5+ years and our marriage is great!
We've been married for 2 months. We were only engaged for about 2 months & we planned a wedding in 12 days. My grandmother was dying of cancer & I wanted her to be there so we got married instead of waiting until next year like we first planned.
