Blech UnderRipe Melon

Picked up a melon that was under ripe and cut it up. Didnt know it wasnt ripe enough until we cut into it.  It tastes like an oversized cucumber.  Mind you  I do like cucumber but not when it is supposed to be sweet delicious melon.

It is a cantaloupe we picked up.   We havent bought whole watermelon in so long.

I dont like honey dew LOL...... I like a real tuscan Musk melon versus the american canteloupe.  Christmas melons are good as well.

I love cantaloup (okay - how do you spell that darn melon's name?????).  I tried growing some last year but there was a critter that kept eating them just as they started to ripen.  Darn critter.  Just to teach it a lesson, I'm not growing it this year.  So there!

Lol mine is boring too. I bought two watermelons for aldi because I was excited they were $2.99. I cut one and dh took the other to work. It was mealy and gross! I asked him about his, and he said that one was gross as well.

Next time, look for a cantelope that has some yellow in the skin under the bumpy stuff. That is usually a sign of a ripe melon.
