That happened to me 2 years ago. Luckily we rented and they got someone out by 10am to fix it.

Go to a hotel! There are emergency A/C repair companies that will come out at anytime to fix it.

2 weeks ago my central air unit went out, it got up to 80+ in my house...The guy came out at 10 PM at night but said it would take 4-5 hours for my house to cool down...Fuck that, we went to a hotel for the night. I can't deal with heat.

Ours was stolen the day we closed on our house. :( We just bought window AC units, it keeps the house VERY cool and saves us A LOT of money. Next year we are going to put in a new central unit. Spend the day outside at the mall a movie a friends house and get the AC man out right away!
