We took the van in because the ac wasn't working. There was a leak in the line and the fluid was gone. So the mechanic patched the line. 3 days later the ac is not working so we take it in again. He had it all day and said that the line has a very slow leak somewhere and he just didn't see it before. He said he ' just about figured out where the leak is'. That was yesterday. Well today he hasn't called yet and I need my car, I don't think he should charge for labor because it cost 200 dollars worth if just labor last time and I feel he should have found all the leaks the first time. I am happy to pay for parts of course but I feel that this time he should not charge labor. What do you think?

Yep, that's what I think too. I don't think this mechanic is very good. Dh insists on using him and only him. His parents have been using him for years. The thing is, his parents have a TON of problems with their van. It's in for repairs about twice a month! So either there van really sucks and they have a great mechanic who gets them in right away or they have a terrible mechanic that's either ripping them off or bad at his job.

good luck
