If your kid has a cell phone or computer...
Someone asked why the mom got her son a phone if she doesnt trust him.
Now my kids are little and too young for phones, but even if I trust them when they are young teens, I plan to have some strict phone rules:
1. Your phone is mine and, therefore, I will look at anything in it (or your computer or other electronics) at any time for any reason.
2. Your phone, laptop, Kindle, iPad, etc. are in my room at night.
As a high school teacher I have just seen SO many otherwise trustworthy teens make big mistakes online. I have seen so many parents who say they KNOW their kids and that their kids would NEVER do certain things when I know that they are for sure dead wrong.
So what are your rules with electronics? Do you think trusting your kid means no supervision.
10 yo SD just got an unsupervised cell phone. I'm upset about it but can't do anything.
