I see people complain about movie prices...heck i do too. But that is why we visit the drive-in during the summer. Kids 5 and under are free. I think 6-12 are $3. Adults are $6. And each night 2 movies play....so you get to see them both for one price, if you want. Snacks are expensive, but you can take your own....so we do that. A trip to the drive-in for us is usually $12. The one we go to is about a 30 min drive....but our reg. theater is 20....so it isnt bad. There are also 2 other drive-ins within an hr of us. Oh and the movies are new releases.

No - there was one in this town for many years - now its a flea market.

before it was a drive in - it was a testing ground for bombs and missiles. when the just went to re-do the lot for the flea market - that's been operating for years - the found ignited arms.. LOL shut the place down for a year and would send out notices when they were going to detonate.

scary shit - went to the movies there as a kid for years - walked the lots there as a flea market for even more -a ll the wile - there were un ignited shells under our feet literally right below the black top.

The last one in our 4 state area closed about 5 years ago.
We made our own in the backyard.  We hang a big tarp on our shed, hook the dvd player up to a projector and stereo, pull out our old-fashioned popcorn maker and call it our "Drive-In".

Now that it's hot, we have a Swim-in.  We show a movie and you can pitch a lawn chair or hop in our pool and watch.

Yes. The one we have is a historical landmark in our city. It burned down last year and reopened last weekend :)

I love our drive inn. We are 5 miles from it. $8.00 per adult, $4 per kid 3 and up. We've been 3 times already this summer. We're hoping to go again for Ice Age and Spider Man.
