Is the back of the card signed with your name? Do you leave it blank? Does it say to "see ID"?
I used to work at a gas station. We checked ID's if it said Check ID on it. BUT policy (& I know Kohl's policy is the same) was that it was a violation of privacy to check identification. Weird.
signed and says see id or "cid". but it's rarely checked if ever. it's only checked if it's the store's policy to check, otherwise no one cares that it's written there.
See ID-rarely get asked though
Dh's siggy has worn off...
Quoting britt80:See ID.
It's amazing how many times cashiers don't ask for my ID either.
Both are signed. But neither ever leave my hand and with my credit card I no longer have to sign for anything as it is a pin number. It has been a very long time since I have had to hand my debit card over to a cashier. I am starting to think that in the US and in Canada the debit cards are two entirely different things.
What exactly is a debit card in the US?
