I think so, i think it would help cut down on distractions with kids trying to out do eachother with the most expensive shoes, shirt etc.
I don't like them because you just don't get to be yourself. BORING! LOL
I don't believe they should have to wear uniforms I would have hated it when I was in school
I went to parochial school as do my girls and yup, uniforms are an absolute. We really looked forward to free dress days. Wearing a uniform isn't going to scar anyone for life.
I think it depends on the uniform. Some of those materials are gross synthetic that looks like it wouldn't breath well whe they play at recess and lunch plus would get snagged and damaged so easily. I would not like that. If they made casual uniforms like jeans or shorts with plain shirt (not white) I might be okay with it but for the most part I like regular clothing for school. I grew up not wearing uniforms, my kids don't wear uniforms and the ones I do see are yucky. It really bugs me that girls must wear skirts and the white shirts that can make them so self conscience once they start developing and their bras show through.
