Toddler has slightly swollen penis in mid area.

My 2 1/2 yr old son has a slightly swollen penis, around the mid area. Only on the upper side. The penis tip is not affected. No discharge. No fever. No redness.

He's always been fussy even when washing that area. He usually doesn't allow that area to be touched. We took him to his Dr, no  medication was given. A solution of Cyteal was prescribed, the child to be immersed in 1/20 dilution - twice/day. The swelling appears to have gone down slightly.

Has anyone else come across such a situation with a toddler?

Nope sorry. The only time my sons penis was swollen was after a surgery and when he smashed it with a toilet seat. Good luck

It sounds like the Doctor's help is working. Did he say it was an infection? Hugs! I never went through that with my son!

Well since op hasn't come back I will just say this. If your son is intact I would guess it is urine that has gotten trapped under the forskin due to the separation process beginning. However just because separation has began, does NOT mean he is beginning to be retractable. My son did have a bit of swelling that went away on its own, he was a little uncomfortable but he wasn't in pain. If your son is intact I would highly advise you to join the group "raising intact boys" or rib, they will help provide a ton of great information on how to properly care for your intact child.
