Do you make your own birthday cakes or buy them? *pics*

I decided this year that I would not buy a single bday cake and I haven't so far. I have never been one for baking or decorating but As long as we can eat it, it doesn't matter too much what it looks like :)

Here are the cakes I made this year for my three kids bday parties.

If you have any feedback, please be gentle...I've never bake cakes in my life before this! LOL

I've only ever bought one birthday cake. That was the year my husband accidentally melted the cake stored briefly in the oven 45 minutes before our daughter's 7th birthday party. It is an infamous day in out family. Stories have been told, jokes shared, it is referenced all the time.up

We actually have a tradition that the birthday child decorateso their own cake with my assistance.
