See what CafeMoms are saying about saving time this holiday season..
My soon to be 4 year old son has always had an issue with his right eye. It turns outwards, and I've taken him into the pediatrician who gave me a referral to go see an eye doctor. At our first appointment he brushed aside my worries, told me he'd grow out of it and to come back if it got worse. Well it got worse. It now happens at least once a day (before it wasn't as frequent, just when tired ), and when he's not tired. He'll be playing or talking and it will just float on over to the outside of his eye until he blinks and it rights itself. I took him back a second time, this time we were given an eye exam and were told again he'd grow out of it. We were told his eye exams showed he'd have a *small* prescription for glasses, but the doctor refused to write it out for me. That was back in October. Here it is July and it's still the same, and it's to the point other kids are pointing it out when he's playing with them. So I have our THIRD appointment for tomorrow, and I fully expect to be told that he'll "grow out of it". He's had this problem for two years, and it's getting worse. .
* I can't change doctors. I'm overseas on a Military base. My only choice is that eye doctor.
**Update** He does indeed have a lazy eye! He was given a prescription after the optometrist spoke to the opthamologist. YAY! Thank you all for the support and advice.
