Has anyone started thinking about Christmas lists yet?
This year I wanted to get started way early and try shopping through the year.
So far my siblings and cousins are bought just have to make them, they're all getting no sew fleece blankets (total of 10 I have to make, only finished 3 so far)
I need to find a craft for me and the boys to make all the adults
DH I'm trying to set aside money to buy a bigger tv for him.
My boys, I haven't figured out too much for them I think each has about 3 things I've come up with, this year my oldest is going to help me with his list :)

LOL. Ehchristmas wasn't celebrated after I was like ten. I ended up turning it into my own fun. So to me Christmas vacation was an excuse to get really drunk for a week Christmas Bday new years. Now that I have kids though its different.one I don't drink. Two I get to spend money on their day, see them open their gifts and be all happy, then on my Bday go shopping for me. So its great to me. My DD is Jan 12 so she's close to.

Lol about activating the card after xmas.  I hear it's not so great to have a birthday around that time.. I have an uncle whose birthday is the 24th.  My husband's is the 7th (pearl harbor day) and that's bad enough!  I always have to remember to get him something separate and decide which one to give for his birthday.

I'm actually pretty horrible at keeping gifts unopened until the day it's supposed to be opened.. I hate waiting!  I want them to see it now!  :)

Quoting MyBigFam6:

That is a great idea, my SS loves shopping for toys. Ill have to ad inthe card that its activated on 12/26 so he doesn't bug me all Christmas day. Plus I live shopping after Christmas my birthday is the 27th

We're doing something different this year.  Instead of getting video games as gifts, we're giving money.  Then after the holidays when all the games go on sale (or back down to REGULAR PRICE!!) we'll get our games.  ;)

That's all we really ever want.. lol.  Games.

Wow.  Like, how was it not celebrated?  No gifts at all?  No decorations?  My parents told me Santa wasn't real when I was 4 and it devastated me.  lol.  So I made sure we let our kids figure it out on their own.

Huh.. actually.. having your bday would be okay.  :)  I like how you look at it.  Happy times followed by happy times followed by more happy times!

Yea nothing. No cookies no tree. They did give me a gift like three years a go. It was a black mini skirt. I don't wear skirts. I found out when I was six by my grandpa he was a jerk. Yea my family sucks. They aren't involved in.my life these days. I make sure I display a different approach to holidays. I bake cookies and decorate everything and watch those Christmas movies with the kids and all that.

Everything in your own life is what you make it. You can't hold other responsible for your happiness, I learnt that along time ago. And hell yea happy times. May Bday gets me all the sales!!!!

:(  Are they non-religious?  Or was it something else?  We aren't religious but it is family time and a chance to get together and stuff.  We get the time off because it's a federal holiday (my dad was in the Army and my mom is a government employee) so we think what the heck, might as well enjoy it!

You are right about your happiness though!  I'm still learning how to do that but it's good advice.  :)  And you are so right about the sales!  I didn't even think of that (even though I mentioned it about the video games.. duh.. lol).

(And we don't talk to DH's side much either.. esp. his parents.. haven't spoken to them in years.. and before that it was years.. they are not nice people.)

Well no religion. Surprisingly my mother was raised Catholic my father just doesn't believe in anything. Well untilled last year I think, he and his new pill head GD found God. I guess I dont know how true that it. They also were on drugs. They told me then it was BC we were poor. We weren't, rent was like 500 and that's with water n electric. They made almost four grand a month, we didn't have car payments they didn't pay their debts and we had state benifits. I realized that when I started paying my own bills. We were never tight nit. I did ever talk to my aunts or uncle's, still don't. My grand parents are all gone but I know next to nothing about them. I was dealt a bad hand but its okay I know how to play cards. You just have to get rid of the cards that will hurt your hand and fill em with new ones.

I am really close with my dhs family. I host Thanksgiving every year, and for being 21 I handled a meal for thirty some people like firday night left overs. LOL HMO have to brag BC holidays my house is full his family is huge and I cook everything home made, nothing boxed or premade.

I am still learning about happiness and how to look at the brighter side. But I always think I wrote my own story. If I'm not happy I will change that change takes time, and UN that time you will grow and learn.

And hells ya sales!!! That's how I also shop for my DD Bday. It makes things easier. Also Valentine's gift. You dh will never realize or think about that but you can be super wife. I'm planning on a grill for my dh for Valentine's day. And they will be supper cheap around that time. I told him already I want an outdoor set for my porch for my Bday.
