In your opinion which is better, renting or owing your house?
Renting is best you don't have to worry about maintenance cost, insurance, taxes and lawn care. After reading this what do you think?

For us right now, renting is the best. But I would love to own our own home one day.

Owning a home is an investment...yes, you might pay more initially, but when you rent you get nothing out of it...you still have to pay insurance...

For us, renting, dh job is fluid, we can go wherever our hearts desire, we are adding to our family hopefully in the very near future and right now we live close to his parents who are getting up thereel in age, but if anything happened to my parents, we would need to move closer to them most likely. Right now, with taxes and repairs and all that goes with owning its a waste, at least for us, we are renting to set aside money to build the hoise we want when the kids move out.

Yes. And you can paint, and remodel, you are not paying someone else to live there.

hah...in this economy?
You can purchase a house for a really low rate but you are going to ask people who likely purchased in the past 5-7 years. Most of us are under water...meaning we owe more on our home that it is actually worth.
Ie if I walked from our home today...it would resale for 190K less than what we purchased it for in only 5 short years.
It IS costly to own a home...renting right now... if I had to do it all over again...I would say ...IS best.
