so i have to get a colonscopy done on thursday morning, and they are heavily sedating me, as my request.

my husband has known this for three weeks now.

and i told him that he would need to take off thursday and friday, as it normally takes me a few days to recover.

he just called me and told me he had no choice but to go into work......

which the money is nice, but that is to be his day off, and he knew about this for three weeks!

but mark my words he is all about taking next friday off for his stupid in grown toe nail, that according to his precious fucking mommy needs to be taken care......now mind you, this boy didn't complain about it what soever until mommy mentioned something about getting it removed....

WELL NEWSFLASH mommy, he has a high co pay, and we have no money to get that kinda crap done.

so he was home for lunch, and said he has off tomorrow instead of thursday, which kind of works better as me being in the bath room all day long, and he can sit with me, just can't be out of the store all day as he will be the only sales person

actually i do, because i am the one who will have to take care of him.

If he is on his mother's insurance plan, she should have some say as to when & what he gets seen for, not you.

Quoting StrawberryJam12:

yes, because we don't have insurance through his job, as it wouljd take his entire pay check....so we are both on our parents plan.

and my plan is through my mothers job, which only has a 10 dollar copay for prescriptions, 15 for regular doctors 25 for er and 50 for specialist.

his is more.

Quoting metalhealthmom:

why are the co-pays different for the two of you if you're married? do you use different insurance policies for some reason?

So his ingrown toenail isnt ok to get fixed because it'll cost to much, but he should take 2 days off for your colonoscopy? Which you will be heavily sedated for by request, which is more expensive. Hmmmmk. That makes perfect sense.

first off, my insurance is covering every single cent of my colonscopy.

and like i mentioned, this boy has had this in grown toe nail for awhile, and until a few months ago when his mommy mentioned it, he wasn't worried about it. but because mommy is a nurse and thinks she knows everything says it needs to be fixed he has to take time off of work, and he thinks he can just take next friday and saturday of, yeah no, from what i understand, they don't put you to sleep or anything for an in grown toenail.

Shes probably angry that hubby wont be around if she needs help. Understandable. I will say though I have n my bff who is a nurse practitioner. If she tells me something medical needs to be done I do it. She is usually right.

The way you speak of him and his mother, it's a good thing you are getting your colon checked out. You sound a bit stopped up.

do you REALIZE that you don't have to be heavily sedated for colonoscopy??  drop your mother off at work BEFORE the dr visit than your grandma will be there *SHEESH* im starting to feel sorry for your husband...  its all about you......  maybe "the boy" doesn't want to take extra days off because he has to next week.

So to be clear, he is a wimp because he needs to get his ingrown toenail taken care of. As it's been explained previously, an ingrown toenail can actually cause serious infection and other issues so getting it taken care of is important. Additionally, with how long you've state he's had it there's a very real possibility that he does need to stay off the foot for the day after.

However, you're not a wimp because you're choosing to be heavily sedated for a procedure that millions of people can do without sedation and you need someone to baby you for two days afterwards?

Right. He's so clearly the wimp and you are clearly fucking She-Ra.

It sounds like she has had this done before & woke up before they were finished.  That is no fun.  Been there, done that.  I would certainly think 3 weeks notice should be enough to get the day off.

Ingrown toe nails can be a bear but rarely get serious.  Colonoscopy is a screening for cancer, very serious.  I understand her frustration.
