we do, we factor in everything and write a list, we at this point, pretty much know how much we use of each itemand buy accordingly, and once every 2-3 months we replenish condiments and spices and try to do that on a rotating basis so we're spending about the same each month on those items, the only things we don't buy all at once are veggies and fruits cause we want to make sure those are fresh each week or so

I do 2 weeks at a time.  I get a fruit and vegetable delivery on Tuesdays, normally shop for groceries every other Thursday or Friday.  So I start with what I know I have - the fruits and vegetables and what I already have (this week, I've got a whole salmon, half a salmon, and 2.5 lbs of assorted lamb cuts) - and build a menu around what I know I have.  When I go to the store, I get pretty much the same things:  Potatoes and onions as needed, dairy products, eggs, dry legumes/pulses/rice, fish.  Meat comes from a local rancher, along with most of my poultry.

Snacks are soaked and lightly sprouted nuts, slices of cheese, and snack mixes I make with nuts, sees, and grains.

I do.
I made a master list in the word on my computer. I kept track of prices at different stores and what stores we preferred what from. From ther my master list got seperated into categories based on store. I slowly stocked up on everything using coupons, buy one get ones amd store sales, now I just print off my list amd go shop, I know what I need and wher to buy it, its basically brainless shopping, even my kids can guide dh when it comes to groceries, they are six and four and dh has been doing the grocery shopping pretty much by himself since our mc in March. Togethe they know what brands and sizes I buy.

Thanks you for your info.Hubby want to save money so i was thinking maybe by going and doing a once a month food shopping trip it would help and yes i would wait for the fruits & veggies too.As i like mine fresh too.It all new to me so i am just trying to find info web site or what ever i can find from people who have done it for some help and guidance. As i have 6 of us to feed.It would be awesome to find a web site that would allow for me to put everything in that i use and it make a list of what i need and how much to get.But i am not sure if there is anything out there like that is Free

I sort of plan my meals. I make up a list that includes everything to make 40 meals instead of 31 so there is some flexibility in what I can choose from. I don't plan a certain meal for a certain day, I just plan to be able to make 40 dinners. Its my mom, me and my son here and my mom eats breakfast on her way to work, my son eats at school and I usually skip it so I only buy a couple of boxes of cereal and stuff to make breakfast on the weekends. It's the same with lunch.
For snacks I have a good idea of what my mom takes to work and what will get ate around the house so I make sure to buy 4 weeks worth and its the same with drinks. My mom drinks green tea every day. It comes in a 12 pack and she takes one to work and drinks one at home so I make sure to get 5 12 packs, I will get 6 if they are on sale. I also make sure to buy a little more than what I think will get used. I also buy frozen fruits and vegetables because we don't use a ton and if i buy fresh I waste more than I use.

I still have to run back to the store from time to time to pick up little things but not much and since I've been doing this I've actually been able skip grocery shopping a couple of times because we had enough food to last.
I make my list on the computer and print it out. Usually we eat the same things so I don't have to make a brand new list every month. I also have an app on my phone (grocery IQ i think is the name) that saves the list and prices but I remember then without it so I rarely use it.

I've done this. But only for meat and only from Costco. We just get a pack of everything. 1 ground beef, 1 ground pork, 1 chicken, 1 steak or stewing beef, 1 fish. Sometimes we get different stuff depending whats on sale. It's kind of on the fly I guess....oh and it often lasts longer than a month.

We have a grocery list that we got out of a book a long time ago.  We buy the same things each month and switch out certain meals as the seasons change.  We get fruits/veggies weekly though since they go bad if we dont eat them right away.

I have that app just never use it but if i scan an item is it going to save that price with that item and i can just make a list of the item from the store and do that same from another store
