ok... single mom... i need to save 2000 by next year aug.. so i have a year...

my bestie and her family go every year to panama city beach.. i went there when i was 6-7 years old. loved it... and i wanna go again with my dd (3 next year)

we will split a condo... we buy most of the food and eat in rent cars and drive down.... and they shop..alot while down there...

im saying 2000 cuz i want to really have a great time down there..

and when taxes come in i need a new car.. mine is on its last leg... so ill be selling or junking that... and getting something used but reliable. so idk what ill have left from that.. but im hoping 500-1000 to go into the savings for vaca....

any tips? plus ill put in ot at work too...any frugal tips for saving? im going to start saving all my change and then cash it in when the jar is full..

My favorite way to save is with change which you mentioned. But one thing I like to do is purposefully give dollar bills so I can get change back. So if it's 30 cents I give a buck to get 70 cents back. I also like to slip some bills in my "piggy bank" sometimes. Once in a while a $5 or a $10 - and forget about them. It adds up quickly. =)

This is what I do too. I get overwhelmed with ones (not a stripper!!! Lol) so once a week I'll grab my wallet & purse & dump all the change and at least a few bills into my jar (I shake it up so I can't see the ones) it adds up so much faster than you'd think.

We do the jar thing too. Also we save our cans. Every little bit helps.

You could apply for a high limit cc too. Or just to supplement your savings.

We have money automatically transferred into our savings account. So, take $2000 / 52 weeks, and transfer $40 each week into savings.

i know. and the dumbest thing i can think of is join a gym right now. (dont bash) but i have a girl at work and i am severly over weight. i want to lose weight but i dont have the will power to just go jogging at home.. idk why. i think its the atmosphere? and i shopped around and found the cheapest one i can find. its going to be 200 for the year. and the only clothes i need to get is going to be some basketball shorts/sweats and ill go to good will for those and then underware.. which i only buy at lanebryant bc of the fit and bc im a bigger girl. but i wait till they have there 5 for 20 sale and get 10 pairs for the year.
