Would you look for a sitter online?

I need to find a sitter to care for our kids occasionally. Would you use a service such as care.com where you can find someone to watch your kid(s)? They do background checks, and I would be able to meet them beforehand, but I'm still a little nervous about it.

If it was a reputable site, maybe. I found sitters by word of mouth from people I knew.

It's a decent starting place, no more dangerous than meeting someone at the playground or preschool. I would absolutely interview, get references, and supervise short periods with the kids before actually hiring a sitter though, no matter where I met them.

I am on that site. I submitted to the background check and I have had 3 families contact me on there. :)

Honestly, no. The only people I trust with my child are the people in my immediate family and maybe like 4 of my friends. Not saying I don't trust all my friends, I just know these specific people have been around kids a lot.
