Quoting mommajen32:The dress-like garment that has the elastic at the bottom, I'm due with #2 in a couple weeks and I swear that's all I want for the new baby to wear. They are awesome for quick diaper changes and newborns pee and poo A LOT. I also love my Ergo. Pricey but very well worth it!!

the swing and a wrap.
my sisters are doing a baby shower for me for my 4th. we don't usually do second baby showers and i was trying to rack my brain to figure out what i needed. i had like 20 items on the list and most of it was sheets (2 items), bibs, etc.
Boppy pillow-great for nursing, tummy time, and when the baby starts trying to sit up.Swaddle sacks since both of my kids preferred being swaddled but I wasn't very good at swaddling with blankets. Those were the things I used a lot. I also loved the swing with my first but my second hated it so I never used it with her.
Swing and baby sling so I could snuggle her sleeping against me with my hands free and the freedom to move around and do stuff.
My favorite things were the rocking chair my sister bought me for my shower. Someone else got me a blanket with the alphabet. When my son was really little just before he learned how to talk, we would rock and I would show him the ABC'S and tell him what they were. I showed him the alphabet in order. When his dad took him to the doctor one day he started pointing out letters out of order and told my husband what they were. My husband told the doctor and they were both shocked. I thought we were playing, but he was learning while we were playing. I got all kinds of flash cards after that. He was learning while we were playing. Make sure you get a rocking chair and the blanket. You can't imagine how fast they learn.
