My sons father just told me today that he found out monday that he has a strep infection and he had my son all weekend and probably exposed him to it. My son has been to summer school all week and my aunts house and a friends house. Who the fuck does that?

Yes, he should have told you. Just ask nicely if next time he could let you know so you can keep an eye on him.

That said, I wouldnt freak out about it.

What's done is done.  If your son isn't sick, don't worry about it.  Your son has a father that wants to spend time with him.  Plus, he spent the weekend with him and found out afterwards.

I told him that next time he needs to tell me ASAP because my son could expose it to alot of other people. Also anytime my son has strep he shows zero signs until he breaks out in a rash weeks later.

The point is that he found out monday and waited til Thursday to tell me. Also whenever my son gets strep he has no symptoms.

Well he should have told you I agree but in a 2 parent household when someone is sick kids get exposed so I don't see it as a big deal him being around him.

Would you have actually kept your son home from school, friends and the aunts house just because he was exposed to someone with strep? Sure maybe it would have better to tell you earlier but maybe since he was sick he just forgot or didn't feel well enough to call.

Well lets be realistic...every time you leave your house you are exposed to these things anyway. at any moment you could be a carrier of thousands of different things.

What would you have done differently in regards to play dates and school anyway?

I carry the insurance so it's a big deal to me because he's so hard to read symptom wise. And I would have given everyone a heads up. Summer school just ended and everyone's already left for the day so I have no way of letting anyone know now.
