My son has aspergers and it helped to me to understand playing with him. I always telling him how to play my way. I went in his room and asked him to show me, he had me sit down and showed me how to play his way. Spent an hour so playing with him, and it was really fun. He smiled and laughing. It was a good site to see.
Went to my daughters (she is nine) and I went at sat with her. We painted her nails and talked about whatever she wanted to talk about.
I recommend you read "playful parents"
It also talks about other things like how to solve fights without yelling, how to think to your before you can say something harmful to your child.
I really Loved the book!
