I know is a weird question but I don't feel comfortable sleeping with a pillow that who knows used, so im planning to bring my own. Is that crazy? do you use the hotel pillows? Do you think hotel pillows are safe to use? I know weird questions but this will be my first time staying at a  hotel. thanks

I'm not going to take my pillow to get contaminated LOL
I'm already sleeping in the bed so the pillow isn't going to hurt me...Plus I am washable, lol!  If I did take my pillow then I'd be washing it when I got home.

ETA: When we travel we do take our pillows but we leave them in the car.  The only way I would use my pillow in the hotel is if they had really crappy pillows.  A neck ache on vacation is not fun.

No. I've stayed in plenty of hotels and only once had a problem, and it was just that whatever they used to wash their laundry made the pillowcases and sheets really stiff. I was still able to sleep it just felt weird on my skin. But I've never gotten any rashes or diseases or stuff like that!

I use the hotel pillows, but we never stay anywhere really questionable. Some of the hotel pillows are more comfortable than our home ones (like the ones we've had at Disney and the Hard Rock hotel)! They clean the sheets, and if you had a problem, you'd have to worry about the entire sheet set and bed, not just the pillow like the other commenter said.

Honestly.. I take my own pillows, sheets, and comforter. I will sleep in the bed but after watching the 20/20 special on TV where even the nicest hotels didn't always clean like they were supposed to.. I've taken my own bedding. It was absolutely disgusting how some of these top notch hotels "cleaned" and how they cut corners. You can imagine how the lower class ones clean..

I'd be more concerned about the comforters - they only get washed when there's a visible stain.  Pillows are changed out regularly.

I worked a hotel for years, I know all about them :)

I use hotel pillows all the time. The generally have a zip-up case and then an additional pillow case. Both cases get washed in between guests.

When I was young and my friend s and I went on road trips, we stayed in dumpy places. We always took blankets to lay on the beds and others to cover up with. We brought our own towels and pillows too. (shower shoes or flip flops were a must). Now II stay in nice places and I'm not so worried about the cleanliness. (it is obvious it is clean)

Never us the comforter. Use the under blankets. They get washed the comforter don't.
