My oldest son (6yo) has what I think is an adhesion. It's right at the tip & I can see there's a thin piece of skin/vein like string attached to the skin further down his penis to the tip of his penis. I've thought about taking him to the dr. but am afraid they're going to just rip it apart which will be very painful. He says it hurts when he tries to pee & I know when it's erect it hurts even more. This has been going on for 4 days now.
He had another adhesion further down a few months back & when I took him to the Urologist (chief of Urology) the only options were to put steroid cream or circumcision. I did some research & didn't want to use the cream so I didn't. Db showed him how to retract it a little to clean it & after he showers but I don't think he's been doing it. He tends to pull the skin all the way up & play with it.
Okay let me clarify some things:
1. My son isn't writhing around in pain or crying in pain or anything like that. It's just when he has to use the bathroom. Mainly in the morning AFTER holding it all night. After he's able to play he's off & running & playing & having a good old time no longer thinking about it. He's been at a birthday party for the past 5 hours & not one phone call about his penis hurting.
2. If he was writhing around in pain or in constant pain the whole day I wouldn't even know it BECAUSE if he was doing it for even 1 HOUR I would be at the doctor's office, Urgent Care, or the ER so fast it would make you head spin. And yes I'm one of those moms who will take her child to the ER after hours for something not considered a true emergency. His doctors, my doctors know I'm very familiar with medical services as well as emailing them if I have a concern.
3. I did start using the cream yesterday in an attempt to help him but I'm not going to forcibly retract his foreskin.
4. Yes I did post & ask for help but it would seem to me if you don't have an intact boy or a circumcized boy that has had an adhesion you shouldn't even be answering since you can't offer any help which is why some of you think he's been in constant pain for 4 days.
