I nesd ideas of what to send my kindergardner for lunch other than a sandwich. The school asks that we don't send any thermos food such as soup. He is lactose intolerant as well. Any suggestions?

DS takes a sandwich, chips, granola bar, fruit snacks and a capri sun. I know it isn't the healthiest, but he is picky so at least this way I know he is getting enough to eat while at school.

My son is picky as well and I know he will eventually get tired of sandwiches :/

Bump because I want to know too! Dd is only 3 but I often wonder what I'll pack her in kindergarten.

Good post! I was about to post something similar. Maybe potato salad or egg salad? Veggies and dip, apple slices, grapes, hummus, crackers and some summer sausage or other meat.

How can a school say no thermos? That doesn't make sense.
For cold lunches, we do wraps, sandwiches, cracker stacks( cracker sandwich), salads, celery filled snacks, etc.

Mine started with turkey sandwiches, then he didn't like them anymore. We changed to PBJ's for a while, til he brought those home also. The last half year he wanted fruits, veggies, Goldfish and when I had Nutella in the house, I made him a Nutella dip. Drink was filtered water (ours out of the fosset tasted horrible), tea (without sugar, honey at times), Gatorade at hot days and when I got a good deal Capri Sun's.

wraps, cold pizza, juice boxes or a water bottle, make pudding with soy or almond milk, and really screw the school as far as what healthy foods u can send...i can see why they wouldnt want soda but if he will eat soup let him take it...

Probably messy for a young child

I do sandwiches, pancakes, dinner leftovers, etc. My son also had access to a microwave though.
