So my step dad suggests dinner at Hooters. I tried explaining why a 15 yr old girl, a 8 yr old girl and 2 yr old boy dont need to go to dinner at Hooters. Apparently the logic of why not is apparently not common sense.

IM NOT BASHING HOOTERS!!! I like the resteraunt I just think its better suited for adults not a teenage girl, an elementary aged girl and a toddler. What would you have said?

And before anyone asks yes there are other restaurant options near by that are more "kid friendly" we are not traveling or on vacation. This was the suggestion made when I asked what every one wanted for dinner.

1 mom liked this

I think some people are just too friggin' thick to "get it".

Leave the kids at home and go to hooters, no problem.

Hooters isn't the place I'd take my kids---and if I ever find out my grandkids have been there I won't be happy. Of course, my kids have better sense .

I havent been in awhile Im now wondering if I misjudged from the only two I have been to. I know the one here was vile, not just the food but other things as well, I wonder if I judged the chain as a whole too quick.

Quoting jjessers:

Just recently , our family had an outing out.

DH's family was in town visiting . It was DH, His father who is 65 and not into the whole , let's look at some young chicks Boobs and body . His Aunt, Grandmother ( who is 90) and my 2 younger boys. ( whom are 4 and 2) . We were looking for options for a place to get dinner. We ended up going to Hooters. It really isn't as bad as people may think. As a Complete family with 4 generations there. We chose Hooters. Had a great time.

Our server was great, and everyone there was treated with respect and nothing *foul* occurred.

Yes I know it is a personal choice. We had no problem with it. We went there to eat . Not look at the servers Boobies.

Oh , and when we were there....there were multiple families there with children of all ages.

Even grandma ( @ 90 yrs old ) had a nice time .

gross I hate restaurant chains in general

I'd rather eat at IHOP, LOL

I don't think it should be considered common sense though

if you like slop for lunch and dinner, by all means frequent slop diners, LOL

I have taken my kids to Hooters. They have great food! And the one we went too was not a bad one at all. Now my stepson was 14 at the time and he could not take his eyes off the waitresses tits. He was beat red and it was funny.

Ive taken my oldest to a place just like hooters
when we lived in the south. It was hot outside and half the town was running around in a tank top and shorts so it wasn't really a big deal to us. Plus the food there was good and it was always packed with families at that time in the afternoon.

No. However, we(DH and I) feel Hooters is not appropriate for US to go to, let alone our children. DH's family disagrees with us and thats fine. If they wanted to go I would say go for it, we will be at (insert other resteraunt) and can meet up afterwards.

Not to mention, the food is crap IMHO.
