Help: children in a house where people smoke
My 4 year old, 11 week old, and I are staying with friends. I knew they smoked but didn't realize they smoke inside.
They've said they won't smoke inside while we're here. The entire house reaks of it though... will the residue or whatever harm my children?
Thanks ladies. We left because it just worried me too much with the newborn. Luckily we only live 4 hours away.

Probably not short term unless there are underlying conditions, like asthma. Long term (like kids who are raised in a smoking home) third hand smoke has a higher rate of causing cancer than second hand smoke.

The chemicals can stay in furniture and other permeable items. Clean what you can but you are a guest.

You could try moving out of their house. :)

I'd tell them DS has a severe allergy to smoke.
Worked for us in the past.
