What did you plan on doing with your life when younger? What happened?

I planned on-adopting, going to college, I didn't know if I was going to marry or not, to be a teacher, and to own my own house, to have pets, live with enough money -no concerns about basic needs (never really wanted to be rich) and to be close to my family still, and to live in the country

what happened-adopted ds and also hosting a foreign exchange student, went to college and graduated, married and happily for 7 years, I am a social worker and have been for years-I went to college as a teacher and 2.5 yrs into my college career I realized I wanted to help a kid/kids and family in needs-so I switched-but also got an Associates in Early Child hood Education, minor in Developmental Psychology, and a Bachelors and Masters in Social Work,  I own my own double wide, I have 2 cats and 2 dogs, I could have more money to pay bills and some times it has been rough but right now doing ok, still close to my family, I live in suburb but have a huge field in front of my yard -so country like-

How about you?

If you asked me when I was 5 I would have said princess and have lots of cats and boyfriends to buy me coffee and fancy cakes. (no clue.. My mom told me this last part)

But since I was 15 the plan was to join the army and stay in for 20 as a reservist while I did something else that evolved computers or medical. Im in the army, I'm an IT and I'm back in school for a 2nd degree (nursing). I never really thought I'd have a kid (I'm pregnant with my first), I feel like a princess most the time, my SO doesn't buy me cup cakes but he makes me diner every night and I make him cupcakes :) we are both financially stable and I feel most my goals have been acomplished so god sent a baby my way to make stuff interesting again lol challenge accepted!

I planned on being a potheaded loser who worked to pay bills and have fun, and never get married or have kids and become a crazy cat lady if I made it to elder years--now I'm married with a beautiful son and potheads irritate me, LOL. Complete 180!

I planned on-go to the army, then to college, traveling before having kids, being adventureous (skydiving, rock climbing) becoming a childrens pyschiatrist, getting married and having kids (I wanted twins, boy & girl-both red heads, one with green eyes & one with blue)

What happened-Married a man I thought I loved @ 20, worked & supported him for 4yrs like an idiot, while he played video games. Left him & got with dh, we dated & had 2 boys, got married & had another boy. Been together 8yrs, married for 4. Never went to college. I homeschool our children. We are going skydiving for our 5yr ann next yr. Oh and our oldest son has red hair, had blue eyes til he turned one then they turned green :)

My only plan was to get as far away from my family as I could as quickly as I could. Since I accomplished that very quickly I soon realized I had to aim higher.

I wanted to go to college to be a sign language interpreter, get a job, get married, buy a house, and have kids.  Ended up doing it all except the sign language part.  Ended up becoming a Special Education Teacher

Many dream bubbles all bursted. The lastest was to go to German College to get my college diploma so I could hit university to study virology. Everything changed the day I met this lonely soldier guy in my favorite country bar in November 9 years ago. I still continued to go to college to keep me busy since he had to go where the hell was burning hotter then hot, waited patiently for E-Mails for over 1 year. College kept me busy, kept my mind off what could happen, he came back 6 month later we married and I was pregnant. Close before DS1 was born I dropped out of College and 6 month later I moved from Germany to the US with our son. Since then I am a SAHM, currently waiting to give birth to DS3. Hopefully I can go back to school after he's born and we're totally settled into our new home.
