Corneal abrasion?

So I thought I had pink eye. My eye was red, burning, watering, itchy, and it hurts! Last night I had my hubby look with a flashlight. Nope, no pink eye. There is a spot on the brown part of my eye that looks torn. I googled it, it said corneal abrasion. I'm going to call my eye dr monday. Has anybody had this before?

STOP rubbing it! :( I know, easier said than done, but it has to be done! Keep it closed, if you can, and keep lubricating drops in it. You may need to call your eye doctor's emergency line, if they have one. This isn't something to mess around with.

My sister got one when the cat jumped on the counter when she was applying mascara and it scared her. She had to wear a patch for a while, I believe... :(

Lol I'm trying soooo hard to not rub it! I've been putting visine in it. Hubby said he would try and make me an eye patch. I tried calling the eye dr, it just goes to voice mail. I'm keeping it closed as much as I can. Light makes it feel like my eye is going to fall out!

I would stop with the Visine, actually....it has an ingredient that, basically, the blood vessels in your eye become dependent on. The more you use it, the more you will need it, and the more blood shot your eyes will get.

I like Fresh Eyes from Bausch and Lomb.

I know these things because, while it's true that it wasn't my career, my mama was an ophthalmic tech for 14 years. :) I also had the misfortune of getting a splinter in the INSIDE of my eyelid while camping once, Labor Day weekend. :-/ Doc couldn't see me until Tuesday, and it was Saturdy morning when it happened. If that wasn't hell...lol

My daughter has.  She was poked in the eye while skiing.  It hurt really bad and light made it 100 times worse.  It heals on its own and nothing can be done.  They did give her antibiotic drops.  In a few days the pain went away'

Yep...Dont rub it...I agree with above stop with the Visine. It will eventually heal on its own but if it is really bothering you head to an eye dr ASAP they can give you antibiotic drops.
