I have been having really bad migraines lately. I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I will normally take excedrin migraine but I was told all I should take acetaminophen, until I see my doctor, but its not helping. Is there anything else I can do?
Update: So I think I know what is causing my migraines. I had a really bad one all day today, I had to go to my dads today so I took some acetaminophen before I went. about an hour after I got there I felt 100% better. I thought maybe the acetaminophen was working. I stayed about two hours. After I got home my migraine started to come back just as bad as it was. Now last week a pipe in my wall broke and we are in the process of getting everything fix. The pipe is fix, the walls are dry, they sprayed something on the walls to make it safe for dd and me to be in the house but I still have mold on the wall under the sink. DH is going to get bleach on his way home to clean the wall, I can't use bleach, it makes me itch like crazy. But I think the mold could be doing it. We had dryer fans and a dehumidifier in my house for the past week and when they took them out is when I got the migraines. All of my cabinets are going to be replaced as soon as we get the insurance money. I might call the adjuster tomorrow and tell him what has been going on and maybe see if the wall is going to be replaced as well or what else can be done.
Drinking coke with a bit of table salt helps quick and is safe enough. I know it taste a bit weird but it really does work according to my df.
caffeine normally works but it's not, and i'm trying to cut back on caffeine. I have had a mirgraine on and off for the past week and its killing me.
do I mix the salt in the soda?

Congrats on ur baby!
Try to stay away from foods that have MSG, Nitrates and Nitrites,(usually lunch meats, unless u get them "toasted",hot dogs, most packages pasta meals, and rice mixes etc. just read the ingredients ;)
I know we all try to cut back on the caffeine when expecting, that may be the cause of the migraine if you used to have a significant amount of it, kind of like a withdrawal symptom. If the migraine still isn't letting up I would call ur dr, tell them how long its been going on, maybe they will get u in earlier or call u in something to help until you can see the dr....I feel your pain, I have chronic migraines.
Good luck
Thanks
I wasn't a big soda drinker before. I would drink maybe 3 12oz sodas at my dads but that was hardly ever. Most days if I did drink soda it was only a can so its not like a huge cut back. Today my migraine is really bad. It's only on one side of my head/neck and i'm getting really bad pains whenever I stand up, walk, any noise loud or quite, light. Normally sleep will get rid of migraines but not this time. I have had migraines my whole life but I have never had one this bad.

We had a professional in here. Two in fact. One couldn't touch it because of the mold and the other did the spray and the fans. They said it was safe for dd and I to be in the house. Tomorrow I am going to find a place for us to stay.
Quoting Christy1919:contact a professional. Mold can be VERY harmful
