Would you consider an arranged marriage for your child?
With the divorce rate so high in America, why not consider an arranged marriage for your daughters and sons?
I have read that in India, arranged marriages are pretty common and they are not "forced marriages" like some people think. They are based on compatibility and the parents choose the person for their child to meet and the child then says whether or not to set the wedding date based on just one meeting. There is no sex, dating, etc before the marriage. The couple usually falls in love after the marriage. Instead of the modern marriage where the couple does all of these things before marriage: date, fall in love, have sex, etc then decide to get married. Some articles say that these "love marriages" eventually run their course and you are left with no more love and nothing in common. I have put that in my own words but that is basically what the article says.
Here is a passage from another article about arranged marriage in the US through the Unification Church:
"Arranged marriages like LaValley's may seem odd and outdated to modern Americans, but that's precisely the point, Unificationists say. The hook-up, fall-head-over-heels route to the altar clearly isn't working, the church argues, if nearly half of American marriages end in divorce."
