So I just picked my son up from daycare, who picked him up from school. His back pack is no where to be seen. Neither is his lunch box. I ask the girls there if he had them when he got there and they say no. so I ask him and he tells me that some kid took it from the playground this morning with his lunch still in it!! My sons brand new lunch box and brand new backpack stolen! On the second day of school!! I got a note in a "loaner bag" that told me to make sure to send him with lunch! I did some little hood rat stole it! I am PISSED! I am going to the school tomorrow and DEMANDING something be done! this is ridiculous! I should not have to worry about a backpack and lunch bix getting stolen from a kindergartener!

If you labled them, you should easily be able to figure out who took them if they are using it.  Why was he on the playground unattended at this age?

Calm down. It was probably a misunderstanding. My kids lose ahit in school all the time Nd they end up In the lost and found. If this is their first week, maybe the other kid thought it was his own or something.

His things are probably in the lost and found. I would go to the school and talk to them and see what all happened. If your kid don't know or remember who took, then there really isn't much the school can do about it.

The playground has cameras all over since they have had issues with vandals. It will be on camera

I have no clue. He rides the school bus since I dont have a car. Trust me if I had a car he would NOT be in this school let alone district since I hate it! He will be in catholic school next year guaranteed!

ETA: yes it is labeled. In 2 places on both lunch box and back pack. In silver paint pen since its a black bag.

I just feel bad for him since this is not how you want school to start.   DD had left her lunch bag behind only because it was somehow tossed in the 2nd grade bucket after lunch.   I hope you can talk to his teacher about this and remind him that if someone takes something of his to let an adult know as soon as possible.  He will not be in trouble.
