Christmas time is approaching quickly. I am setting aside money in my savings account for Christmas currently I have about 95.00 set aside just for her presents. I get paid again this month and I think I can throw an extra hundred or so in there. I grew up getting 200.00 worth of presents myself so that's what I have always tried to get. I look for clearance toys all year but there never is anything that I would buy. I've bought her a horse hospital for 15.00 just a small play set and that's it. It seems like everything is way more expensive. There is a certain doll house I want to order her that I believe is 165.00 on Walmart.com I haven't looked anywhere else but last year I wanted it and the price went up to like 300 and I couldn't afford that.

How much are you spending per child? Times and changing and so are prices. What is an appropriate amount to set aside?

I do about 200 bucks as well although with the gift we already bought for her (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playset) it will probably be about 250 this year.

Bump. We don't do Christmas.
But for our holidays it depends. DD gets new pajamas and dress and maybe $50 in gifts.

I was thinking 250 might be fair this year... That leaves a little bit extra for a few toys besides the doll house if I get it.

I usually say around 200-250 an end up spending closer to 350-400 with stockin stuffers etc.
But we have only one child so I don't have to split my budget on multiple little ones

I have 3 kids. I don't spend any specific amount per child. we get them each the same amount of gifts instead.

I have an account that ise just for xmas. This year it's a little lighter than past years at this point because we moved a few months ago and took off a lot of work for that move. Right now there is $900 in it. By the time we go shopping I will have about $1500. Typically I like to have $200, but we'll make due with what we have this year.

The account isn't just for my kids xmas, although thats mostly what it is. It will also cover other gifts.

I have no idea how much i plan to spend this year.  up until now its been about $150 per kid but my teens want more expensive things so I'll probably go up to $250 per kid at least my older two.   I have my dd's birthday end of Nov and my sons B-day end of Dec as well.

I am not sure what my dd is getting this year if anything from us at least. She asked to adopt kids for christmas instead so we have already started that. I am guessing her tv and ps3 will be her christmas but she is getting that sooner so not sure. We will work on her after we get the adotion ones done.

I wait till dh bonus comes in November and then I buy Christmas. we don't set a limit. But never go overboard either. Last year we spent 600 dollars. But that was all 3 kids, my nephew and each other.
