Do you or have you taken things from a rental that weren't yours?
I used to rent from my aunt, (going back soon) I painted the whole place, had dd's room looking adorable, etc. Well when I went to look at it the other day & the curtain for her closet (there was no door)was gone, my aunt didn't remove it, a previous tenant did... all but maybe 4 curtain rods were missing (there was one for every window, a total of 12). I was like really? And the chest of drawers & shelf I painted were covered in stickers. The child didn't do it, the mother did. Which I find stickers on stuff like that tacky...
The tenant after her threw my granpa's chair outside in the rain(he passed when I was youn & its all I had). I left it bcuz I had no where to store it. And it helped my aunt if it was furnished. They were supposed to tell her before they tossed it out. By the time she saw, it was ruined.
I realize I can't control that, I wasn't there. But I've never taken things from a place I rented that were there when I got there...
I rented from a guy one time who told me that the ppl took the fridge & stove, & quite a few other items. I talked to a lanlord who said that she doesn't supply refrigerators or stoves bcuz she's had so many stolen. The place I'm in now, the landlord had a list of things the previous tenants took.
Why take things? Geeze...I like the nightstand she let us use but I'm not taking it. She let us use a headboard & frame for dd's bed, we don't have one, but I'm not taking it...
Nope, I replaced nasty curtains with vertical blinds once . I wasnt sure if they wanted them so I left the old curtains in the closet when we moved out.
we ahvent but in our case I would. My landlord is a tottal jerk off who doesnt repair his propertys an is a supposivly recoving druggie but I believe he still does it. Why are we still here because we have to wait till next income taxes to move. but if there was any thing worth taking hell yeah i would lol. but any one elses property house no I wouldnt lol.
We usually replace the toilet seats and shower heads, but we store what was there originally and put them back when we move.
I would have gone after them for destruction of property. We have never taken things or left things behind in previous places we have rented.

I didn't leave anything in my home besides the blinds and fans/lights.
The house we're renting out, they left some curtain rods, carpet cleaner, chicken coup, little play house that is semi destroyed, a few kitchen items, etc. I do not plan on taking any of their items with me. They aren't mine and I am not so inclined to steal their things.
That being said, I wouldn't trust those types of items to be in my home after someone left because there are so many people who see it a free items that cannot be proven they were left there.
Is it just me, or... ?
