Would you let your 14 year old

Posted by   + Show Post
My dd was nominated by her teacher for a program called People to People Student Ambassador. If she's picked (chances are slim) she would go to Either Whales, Ireland or Scotland for the summer. Kinda like a foreign exchange student. I don't have all the details yet as I still have to go to the Information meeting in November. The cost of the trip is somewhere between $4000 and $8000. would you let your 14 year old go?

Yes I would. That's an amazing opportunity! I would set up fundraisers etc to raise money and tell her to have a blast!

I don't know, propably not that's really young to be sending my daughter off to another country half way across the world, without me or my hubby!

No, but not because of the travel. I'm not a fan of that particular program because of their deceptive marketing practices. You should check and see if her teacher really did nominate her because often it has just been a mass mailing list not a personal nomination.

Wow, so it's a scam! Scary stuff to involve children with. :(
