But how do you wash a lunchbox? DD's lunchbox is vinal inside, cloth outside. Can I throw the whole thing in the dishwasher? Or the washing machine? Or is it hopeless and not washable?

I clean the inside every night, but she managed to spill applesauce on the outside and even after wiping it down, it smells funky now

I wipe out the inside with clorox wipes.

I spray the inside with all purpose cleaner then wipe down with a damp cloth.

Use a sturdy washcloth and dish soap, run it under water to rinse and air dry. You may be able to toss it in dryer on NO HEAT to help speed up drying process.

That sounds like a good idea. Does it get rid of any smells? I use bleach water and it does the trick. But your solution sounds easier!
