I just got a text from my ex husband (and father of my 8yo son) that said: "I stopped and paid you an extra 280 in child support. Figured you could use it for Christmas since J (my fiance) isn't working."
Whaaaaa????
Where in the WORLD did THAT come from???
I mean, we have been getting along really well lately...but...he's not that type of guy. To just go and give me an extra $280 for no reason.
I'm so confused. And a little scared. Like, what's he going to ask me for next?? Plus, yes my fiance isn't working...but we're doing ok. I really don't want to be his charity case...
I have no clue how to feel about this.
Think of it as a kind gesture and not something he's trying to trick you with....unless you know him to be that kind of man.
Say "thank you" and take it in stride.
"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification" Romans 14:19

Feel blessed, and accept it on behalf of your child. I never look for a 'hidden meaning' in things...maybe the Christmas spirit just got into him. When I look for positives, I find them...when I look for trouble, it finds me...get my drift? Try to see the silver lining before looking for ulterior motives, you'll be happier.
Take the money and run! Hahahaha
I would just say "thank you" and be grateful. Just be cautious that he might ask for something (like extra visitation) around the holidays.
LOL I did. I'm going to use it on Black Friday for my son's Christmas, which is what I'm assuming he gave it to me for anyways.
But I did say thank you. I just find it odd. :)
Quoting EmilysMom2010:
Just say "that was very nice of you, thanks" and leave it at that.
Take the money and run! Hahahaha
