doesn't make you a "photographer", as in a professional who should advertise an earn a living. It makes you a fauxtographer.

ETA: Photography skill can take years to develop. Didja see what I did there? Anyway...my point is, if you don't have skills, don't waste people's time. I have seen so many people posting on social media that they've bought a camera and now need to learn to do it, so who wants to pay them for crappy pics so they can learn? lol. I feel sorry for the idiots who fall for that crap. It's not a bargain.

I think I take pretty good photos,I have gotten postive feed back from a number of people,I have been taking pictures of my children since they were Born,I got a digital camera 3 years ago for a Holiday present and since then I have been taking my own Holiday,Birthday,ETC photos of my Children,I don't claim I am a Photographer I do it for a Hobby..

This is what I mean. Just because you have a decent camera doesn't make you a professional. I'm so tired of seeing random people popping up saying "I bought a new camera! Who wants to pay me $75 for some pix? I'll edit!"

Well I don't think you should start charging, or presenting yourself as a professional just because you have a nice camera. However if you are working towards becoming a professional, or just picking up a new hobby then go for it.
