If you shop at HEB...or have one near you...

I wanted to let you know about the "fresh or it's free guarantee". Anything you find at HEB that is expired, whether it's cereal or meat, you can take the expired product along with the newer product to the check out. They scan the old product, destroy it, credit you the price, and send you home with the fresh one for FREE.

I don't do coupons but yesterday, my BF took me grocery shopping and got me $60 worth of meat and food products for free. I was really impressed! And the store managers weren't bothered by it at all. They said they'd rather it be us than the health department.

Hope this helps!

* I think it excludesn raw produce!

Cool! I love shopping at heb, although you getting 60 dollars worth of food that could have been expired if you hadn't checked is weird.

Yeah and before this, I never checked expiration dates.

Although we went to another HEB afterwards which was newer and they had nothing expired at all. So don't get too overly paranoid, it probably depends on the store. :)

I don't mind getting free food, so I'll definitely check :)

$60 worth of expired stuff on their shelves...I'm not so sure you should be all that impressed.
