Our typical thanksgiving meal

1st - fruit salad

2nd - soup  (my sis likes to make squash)

3rd- some kinda of pasta dish.  probably a baked ziti or lasagna

4th-  Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes  2 ways.  the mashed will have mashmallows on top. stuffing (home made if i have the time) whatever green veggie my sister wants.  cranberry sauce, stuffed mushrooms

5th  desert   this year it will be a birthday cake for my dd  and some pies.  Probably apple, pumpkin and coconut custard.

Roasted turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, stuffing, green bean casserole (yuck! my sister brings it every year), Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and apple pie w/homemade whipped cream (I hate the stuff in the can) and vanilla ice cream.

Thanksgiving for our little family of three is more about being together and enjoying the football than it is about cooking so we do it the easy way. We ordered a Honeybaked ham and got sides to go with it, au gratin potatoes, green bean casserole, and baked apples. We also ordered pies from Baker's Square. We have no close family and my son's girlfriend is working so we'll eat in front of the TV and there should be enough leftovers to cover at least one meal on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well. I am especially thankful that my son is home safe from New York and New Jersey where he spent 2-1/2 weeks doing relief work. He is an EMT and he was sent there under the auspices of FEMA.

Kielbasa Port Soup

Deviled Quail eggs

Roasted glazed duck

Caramelized sweet potatoes with onions and bacon

Garlic roasted asparagus

Green bean casserole

Whatever fresh salad or side my brother brings

Espresso trifle with fresh berries and cream

Pumpkin cake roll

How's it sound? What am I missing?
