We have strictly been a liquid family here until about 6 weeks ago. My hubby went to the store and we were running low on funds. The powder was on sale for really cheap of the liquid that we buy. So he buys some. I am now a powder convert.

What sold you on the powder? I always had residue.

I've never had any problems with residue with the brand we buy. We buy All Free & Clear (have to buy F&C because of DS's skin) and I feel that it does a better job than the liquid. I think what also keeps the residue down is the fact that it is f&c because it doesn't have all those extra additives. I also feel like I use less with the powder because I can see the level in the box and not have to judge how much is left like in a bottle.

Liquid. Powder makes me break out.

I prefer liquid only because the powder seems to leave residue in the cheap washers we have here at the apartment complex. They're positively ancient.

I hate powder.  It really never dissolves all the way.  With liquid, I can use it as a pretreater as well.  Works into stains with simple rubbing or a toothbrush.  No extra purchase of a pretreatment product.  Can't do that with powders.
