I am a surg tech student and my class adopted 8 kids from the hope tree this year. We chose a family with 3 kids an their oldest boy is autistic. None of us are sure what to get him. I know there are different spectrums and there's no way for us to find out which spectrum he's on. I need ideas please!! Thanks ;)

itunes gift cards

anything a 15 year old would like.  my DS is only 5 but he still likes what any 5 year old boy likes plus things that are much older for him...

its hard when you dont know the child

It would be better to treat him like a 15 yo not a younger child.

I would treat him like a normal 15 year old. A generic ipod-style music player would probably be nice and reasonably priced. I am sure he sees the other kids at school with them. Treat him normal, not like a little kid.

Most autistic children enjoy cause and effect toys according to my son's aba therapist. You push a button and it makes noise/lights up. Also consider the child may be developmentally delayed so younger toys may be useful to him. You can ALWAYS do some sensory stuff. You know those big exercise balls you get? Almost all kids with autism love them. There's also the little trampolines they sell. Those vibrating neck massagers are great for sensory seekers. Good luck
