What women used for pads/tampons before modern times? For some reason I have always wondered. Especially Native American women, poor women, or those who live outside of "civilization". Maybe I'm just weird. lol
In the 1800's they used rags. This is where the term "being on the rag" comes from. Also in the old saloons when the prostitutes were menstruating they would dance instead of entertaining clients, this is where the term for rag time music came from.

According to south park they used tampons made out of Cherokee Hair.
lmao.
I was having that same thought while I was typing this post. lol

Oh, that's interesting!
maybe yours wasn't bad then or a full blown uti, cause i have never met anyone it works for.
Quoting MamaC.:
It does get rid of them, I've used it. But it doesn't matter, I don't want to debate with anyone.
Quoting notjstasocermom:yeah it helps prevent but not get rid of them.
Quoting MamaC.:
Herbs and plants that people still use today. Cranberry works wonders on utis.
Quoting notjstasocermom:although I have wondered how they got of bacterial infections , uti's things of that nature, without antibiotics.

Rags. They would fold up cloth and wear a certain type of underwear with them. If I remember correctly. They also use to shave their legs with rough stones! Yikes
Ouch! I didn't know that!
