Please help me out here ...trying to make a point to my 10 yr old DD (about sleeping )

Posted by   + Show Post

Do your children over the age of 9 ..get you to sit beside them every night in order for them to fall asleep ? Or do they just go to bed at bedtime and go to sleep on their own ?

Do they wake up every night through out the night just to wake you up to come and sit with them so they can fall back to sleep?

Do they have to find you every ten minutes ...

Do they expect you to spend EVERY waking moment with them ?? Or do they go off and do their own things a good deal of the time ?

My son, age 10, goes to sleep on his own. When this boy goes to bed, he is down for the count, will not see him again until morning and he is very independent. If I try to treat him like a baby he will freak out!

My kids are ages 14,12,10,8, and 5. They are all very independant. They go to bed when told, get themselves up for school and get themselves fed, dressed, and teeth and hair brushed. They also wash their own laundry and bath themselves. During the day they sometimes want to cuddle but usually are playing or doing their school work in their rooms.

My ds is five he will get.his own meds, with me.closely watching of course. He.will then get his own pjs on and come.read me a.book before he.takes himself to bed. But if he does get up during the night he.has.trouble.falling back to sleep. During the.day he.does his own thing most of the time since he.is.an only child we do have family play time almost every evening. After supper we.will either play a game, watch a family movie or build with blocks.

My 9 month old daughter goes to sleep by herself. All she wants is her binky. My 5yo gets tucked in after homework. My 12 yo finds me and gives me a hug and sometimes a kiss. They fall asleep on their own.

My 9 year old son refuses to sleep in his bed. It's a fight every night. Just last night I offered to take back all his Christmas presents if he didn't stay in there :-(
