When your LOs turned loose and started taking steps how long did it take for them to really get the hang of it?

I know it varies a lot from kid to kid. Just wanting a general idea :)

Both my children and my grandbaby were walking without any assists by 9 months.  That is early on all counts, but once they stood up, they were off to the races.

My oldest took steps for about a month before she finally started to really walk.

#2 stood up, took a step, looked at me, took a nother step smiled then took off. I kid you not it was crazy. he went from crawling to running in a day.

#3 took steps for months before she started to walk across the room. she was lazy, we're actually surprised she started when she did because she likes being held.

#4 took steps for a week then started walking all over.
