Feeling way guilty!

Took dd8 to basketball today. Her coach asked us to play too, so I was playing. DD got hit with the ball but wasn't making a big deal about it. She kept showing me her hand and I kept telling her to keep playing, "it's not that bad."

Well we get home and as turned her hand over, the under side of her finger is purple and swollen!

Dd is pretty tough, but usually cried if she's genuinely frightened, hurting, etc. so I thought no tears, pain wasn't so bad.

Now I feel like a total jerk!

Yeah but now I'm debating a trip to the ER. I should have taken the time to listen to her.

I would take her just in case.   Accidents happen alot in sports.

Take her to the er better safe than sorry. You made a simple mistake, maybe it just took a little while to appear. things like that happen sometimes.
Regardless go with your gut.

I wouldn't feel bad. My ds broke his pinky once in third grade. He fell in gym and landed funny. Anyway the teacher told him to run cold water on it an if it still hurt to come and tell her. He has a very high pain tolerance so he never came back and didn't complain for the rest of the day. When he got to me his pinky was HUGE and purple.
Sometimes we take our cues from the child's actions and they fool us LOL
I hope it's not too painful.
