What is the most money you have gotten back on your income tax?
For me it was $10,000 that was State taxes included.

About 7000$ we get lots of deductions from dhs line of work. But we still end up having paid a good amount to the govt.

$4,000...that was when I was younger and didn't quite understand how it worked. Now I would never make that decision with my money.

We dont let the government take more than possible. So we get back nearly nothing.

$17k from Federal and $5k from state for our 2007 taxes.. we had adopted our dd from China that year. Now, we average about $7k from federal and $1500 from state.
