I love her like I do my own. Her mother called my husband and said she almost just  left them here because I was so upset. They are grown but I still love them.

They are coming to live with us in march.

Aw well that's really sweet :) I know a step parent can love their children. It's just most step parents who adore their step children don't have any of their own which is why I asked.

I'm sorry you are bumming.
I have a somewhat similar situation.
My husbands best friend since he was like 5, is a single Dad to two little girls (3,4) he has a job that he has to leave a few days at a time. I (well DH & I) take the girls when he has to work. Well this last job was 18 days, he got back yesterday and picked them up. I'm so bummed =(. I love the girls like my own, I have spent so much time with them and am there only mother figure.
I can at least see them whenever I want to. But it's still not the same as them being with me 24/7 lol.

Yeah my stepmother used to lie about me to my dad because she was afraid he'd like me better than the son she had. She got me in trouble for things I didn't do al the time! I'm glad to meet a nice stepmother! Also sorry you had to deal with a bad one aswell Crwspringer

thats really sweet of you. At least she has a great mother and step mother though :) She is a lucky girl
