your 6 year old to sleep over camp? My daughter is almost 6 and wants to go to sleep over camp really bad, this is a girl scout camp that is 30 minutes from our house or 1.5 hours away (haven't decided which) It would only be 2 nights away as its either Sunday-Tues. or Wed-Friday. I think she will be fine as we have camped before and she talks about it all the time (she has even picked her camp name). Some of my friends say I shouldn't she is too young and I should wait.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! note the caplockfury?

unless me or her Dad are there in a group sleepover setting, I would never let my 6 y/o child do that.

I am not sure since she hasnt been away from us for more than one night.  I think she would do ok but given some of her quirks not sure how they would go over there LOL.

Why? the camp is only girls the only men are the cooks and they don't live at the camp.

'nuff said? only takes a few minutes for a kid to be assaulted or abducted.

but hey that's just my paranoia, you do what is best for your family.

Has she been to sleep overs?   Do you know the adults she will be with really well?   If you are comfortable with her going..... follow your instincts.

My kids only went to camps if me or DH chaperoned, but I allowed my 6 yr old son to go on vacation with our best friends (their son was his best buddy).
