Old obituaries?

Have you tried the newspapers website?

No but they're from 10 and 20 years ago. I'm not sure what papers they were posted in.

Try city hall....

Usually they are kept in online archives. If its an older one, before the archives start, you can most likely find them at the local library of the town where the deceased lived, or you could contact the newspapers in the town where they lived.

Depends where you live.  By us I can go to the local paper online.  Under obituaries.  You can search a death up to I can't remember how many years back.  I think at least 10.  That might be your first start.
