So we found a rabbit hopping around outside of our apartment. We knocked on everyones door in our building and everyone says that they don't own a rabbit. It is obviously well taken care of and smells like it just had a bath. Anyways the office at our apartments doesn't open until Tuesday, so we will be keeping it until then (I'm hoping whoever it belongs too reported it). The only problem is we know NOTHING about rabbits. I googled some stuff and now I'm like deathly afraid that we will feed it the wrong thing or scare it to death (my 2 1/2 and 5yr old boys can be quite loud).

Soo I was just wondering if you ladies had any experience or advice on what necessities we should buy to keep it alive and healthy for these next few days. Thanks in advance :)

Oh and I will post a pic in replies cuz its so cute :)

Please post a picture!

They love carrots and leafy greens. They also like rabbit pellets. If you have a small cage to keep it at night, line with with some newspaper. A litter box is more ideal, but there's no way of knowing if it's litter trained, so that may not help. Watch bunny carefully as live wires tend to be a favorite chew toy! If it lets you pick them up, cuddles are great!

Oh and water! They prefer it from one of those spouty bottles (think hamster bottle), but I've seen rabbits lap water, too

Timothy hay and rabbit pellets. Go to a pet store they have everything there. Make sure you give it plenty of water. They dehydrate very easy and die.

Aw! Check craigslist. Might think about posting it too. But don't put a pic or any identifying info in your post otherwise someone may say its theirs so they can get some free snake food. Make the person describe the bunny to you.
